Automobile exports: China’s “star” industry today
Global trade as a whole is not so good right now, but China’s auto exports stand out as the brightest growth point.Specifically:

1, the growth momentum is fierce: in the first half of 2025, our country exported about 3.1 million cars, an increase of 27% over the same period last year.Among them, the new energy vehicles is even more hot, exported 1.65 million units, a surge of 70%!Like electric cars, lithium batteries, solar cells, these “new three” products, became the absolute main driving force of export growth.

2, sold more valuable: China’s auto exports not only the number went up, the average price also went up, 2025 a car can be sold to about 20,000 U.S. dollars, more valuable than the previous year.
3, the main focus on emerging markets: where are these cars mainly sold?Russia, Mexico, UAE are the biggest buyers. The fastest growing areas are in the Middle East (like the UAE), Central and South America (like Mexico and Brazil) and Southeast Asia (like the Philippines).Simply put, people along the Belt and Road are buying the most and growing the fastest.
Why Nansha?What are its “diamonds”?
The Auto Export Co-creation Alliance has analyzed the feasibility of building a large-scale auto export base in Nansha, and found that Nansha has very prominent advantages, which can be summarized as “timing, geographical advantage, and human harmony”:

1, location – good location, strong hardware:
2. Timing – strong policy east wind:
3, people and – industrial ecological maturity:
What does a world-class export base look like? What can we learn?
The China Auto Export Co-creation Alliance has studied several successful international auto export bases and found that they all share common characteristics

Port of Tomakomai, Japan: Specialized in the export of used cars, the model is very mature.Characteristics are: next to the port, there is a large auction house, testing and preparation center, storage area, one-stop service.Buyers (many from the Middle East and Russia) bid directly on the spot or online, and then ship out after the auction is complete and ready. With high efficiency and good reputation, we can export more than 200,000 used cars a year.

Port of Busan, South Korea: Close to a large port, it has formed a centralized automobile export industrial zone.Characterized by the integration of auction procurement, testing and preparation, warehousing and logistics functions, it is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized exporters to operate flexibly, and the export process is efficient and convenient.

Dubai Auto City: positioned as a “re-export hub” for the Middle East and Africa. It is not just a port, but a huge automobile trade park with everything: hundreds of showrooms for customers to see cars, large warehouses, financial and insurance services, and parts supply. It attracts buyers from all over the world and then resells them to more than a hundred neighboring countries.
The common points oftheirsuccessare summarized as follows: close to efficient ports or logistics hubs; with a full set of functions such as vehicle concentration, preparation, testing, warehousing, customs clearance, etc.; one-stop services such as finance, insurance, logistics, after-sales service, etc.; support of multimodal transportation (seamless air, land and sea); and powerful policies (such as free trade zones.),tax exemption and tax rebate).
What Nansha wants to learn: learn from Japan’s bitter Komaki’s “standardization + auction + efficient circulation” model, learn from Dubai’s “re-export + distribution + full chain service” experience. The goal is to build Nansha into a core hub for automobile exports for the “Belt and Road” and emerging markets around the world, not only as a port, but also as a powerful integrated service platform.
