According to the Algerian Association of Consumers and Environmental Protection (Adoce), the competent authorities have set up a price reference standard for imported new cars, which will be used as a basis for Customs to standardize tariff accounting, combining the importer’s declarations with the invoices of the purchase of the car, in order to point out the chaotic pricing in the automobile market and to safeguard the rights and interests of consumers.
With a detailed reference catalog in hand, Customs implements “precision pricing” for imported new vehicles:
Adoce Association emphasized that the core of the new regulation is “three guarantees “: to protect the market norms, to protect the fair price, to protect the rights and interests of consumers.For a long time, the price of imported cars “in the fog”, some merchants take advantage of the information gap to raise prices for profit.Now the reference price landing, equivalent to the car market installed a “price ruler”, so that the tariff accounting, car price publicity more transparent, from the source to curb indiscriminate pricing and charging.Adoce Association emphasized that the core of the new regulation is **”three guarantees “**: to protect the market norms, to protect the fair price, to protect the rights and interests of consumers.For a long time, the price of imported cars “in the fog”, some merchants take advantage of the information gap to raise prices for profit.Now the reference price landing, equivalent to the car market installed a “price ruler”, so that the tariff accounting, car price publicity more transparent, from the source to curb indiscriminate pricing and charging.
The Association has publicized the price list validated by the Ministry of Finance, and the reference prices for typical models are as follows:
Models of different origins, displacements and brands have clear price gradients, and there is an “official guide” for car owners to choose their cars and for importers to declare them.
For importers, the reference price compressed the “price operation space”, the future declaration, pricing must be more transparent, relying on the information gap “gray profit-making” is difficult to sustain;
For consumers, more transparent prices mean “less stepping on the pit”, clear tariff accounting, more stable expectations of the cost of purchasing a car, and an “official basis” for rights protection;
For the market ecology, the new regulations to promote the car market from “chaotic pricing” to “sunshine trading”, in the long term, or to attract more compliant car companies layout Algeria, activate market competition.
At a time when global auto trade rules are being reshaped, Algeria has taken the “reference price” as its hand to set rules for the imported car market, which is not only a necessary action to regulate the market, but also a key step in guarding consumer fairness.Subsequent car prices will be more friendly?Will there be more competition in the imported car market?Follow us to keep track of what’s new in the Algerian car market!
