As the domestic auto market enters a stalemate of “involution,” overseas markets are becoming a “new blue ocean” for Chinese automobiles.

According to the latest data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), from January to November 2025, China’s auto exports exceeded 7.33 million units, and the annual export record of 8 million units is now a certainty.

Among them, passenger car exports reached 6.23 million units in the first 11 months, and are expected to challenge the historical record of 7 million units for the whole year.

From January to November 2025, Chinese automakers experienced strong growth in all regions except Russia, the United States, and Canada, with sales increasing by over 30% in Africa (110%), Oceania (69%), Southeast Asia (53%), Central and South America (40%), the Middle East (36%), and the European Union (35%).

To date, Chinese automakers have established over 100 production bases globally, with overseas production capacity exceeding 2.5 million vehicles.

The overseas factories that went into operation this year alone have a planned capacity of over 1.2 million vehicles, a stark contrast to the overcapacity situation in the domestic market.
