China’s auto exports are number one in the world! They’ve crushed Japan and swept Europe, and these five countries are frantically buying.

Honestly, when I saw this data a few days ago, I was completely shocked. China’s auto exports have reached 5.859 million units. What does this number mean? It means we’ve surpassed Japan by a full 1.5 million units!

Did you know that four years ago, we were hovering around 1 million units, but in recent years, we’ve soared to nearly 6 million. In 2021, we were aiming for 2.01 million units, 3.11 million units in 2022, 4.91 million units in 2023, and now we’re at 5.859 million units this year. This growth rate is truly astonishing.

Hey guys, let’s first talk about how incredible this achievement is.

Honestly, who could have imagined that Chinese cars would achieve the status they have today? I remember over a decade ago, people were still debating whether to buy a joint venture car. Now, our cars are sold all over the world, and we’re number one!

What’s most exciting is that this success wasn’t achieved through a price war, but rather through genuine technological advancement. We’re truly ahead in the new energy sector, especially in European countries pursuing carbon neutrality. Chinese new energy vehicles are a real hit.

02

These five countries scrambling for Chinese cars are truly surprising.

Russia goes without saying; the geopolitical relationship is there. But look at the others: Belgium, Australia, Saudi Arabia, the UK… these are all developed countries!

Belgium is even more interesting. They’re in the heart of Europe, and even they’ve started importing Chinese cars in large quantities. What does this mean? It means Europeans are really becoming more accepting of Chinese cars. They used to look down on our cars, but now they’re really into them.

Australia is also a major car importer, and Chinese cars are selling incredibly well there. A friend of mine in Australia told me that Chinese people there are now preferring domestically produced new energy vehicles.

03

Speaking of technological advantages, we truly have a strong track record.

In the new energy sector, we started early and have extensive technical expertise. Take BYD’s blade batteries and CATL’s battery technology for example; these are proven strengths built through substantial investment. Furthermore, in the field of intelligent connectivity, we’re also advancing faster than Europe, the US, Japan, and South Korea.

We also have to talk about value for money. For cars with the same specifications, we can be significantly cheaper than European and American brands, while still offering comparable quality and technology. This is why so many countries are clamoring for Chinese cars.

04

But then again, we can’t be too optimistic about the future.

Although current performance is strong, experts say growth may slow starting next year. Trade barriers and market saturation will gradually become apparent, especially as Europe and the United States are becoming wary of our new energy vehicles.

I think this is normal. Every industry has its cycles. The key is to strengthen our brand and technology during this window of opportunity. Now that export volumes are up, the next step is to enhance brand value.

05

Based on the data, these automakers are performing really well.

BYD exported 69,000 vehicles, a 14.2-fold year-on-year increase. This figure is truly impressive. Chery exported 319,000 vehicles, a 1.8-fold increase. Great Wall exported 99,000 vehicles, a 100% increase. These figures reflect real technological advancement and market recognition.

Furthermore, the export price of Chinese new energy vehicles has already reached $30,000 per vehicle, demonstrating that we’re not just competing on price, but rather possessing genuine technological sophistication.

06

Let’s get real: what does this mean for ordinary people?

First, it’s a sense of national pride. That goes without saying. Second, buying a domestically produced car might give you more face. After all, if even foreigners recognize a brand, what do we have to worry about?

The most practical thing is that with fiercer competition, car prices are likely to be even lower. To gain a foothold in China, automakers will undoubtedly be more committed. This is definitely a good thing for us consumers.

Overall, it’s been truly difficult for the Chinese automotive industry to achieve its current success. From imitation to originality, and from low-end to high-end, the journey has been incredibly challenging. While there may be challenges ahead, I believe that as long as we continue to invest in technology, the future of the Chinese automotive industry will be even brighter.

Lastly, I’d like to say that when buying a car, it really comes down to your own needs. Whether it’s domestically produced or a joint venture model, the best choice is the one that suits you. But let’s be honest—domestic cars today are nothing like they used to be. When the time is right, it’s definitely worth considering them.
