Currently, according to the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), Cambodia attracted $745 million (about 5.34 billion yuan) in automotive industry investment in 2024, and the automobile exports in that year exceeded $1.1 billion.
At a recent meeting, the Council for the Development of Cambodia said that the country expects to attract more automotive industry investment by 2027, mainly driven by tire manufacturing projects.

According to the council, there are now seven local tire factories, opening up an important export market for Cambodia’s rubber industry.
Cambodia launched its strategy in 2022 with the goal of becoming a “production hub for automotive parts and electronic equipment for regional and global markets.”
Investment in tires has surged in Cambodia over the past two years. The Council for the Development of Cambodia mentioned in its latest monthly report that it approved a $244 million tire production expansion project in Svay Rieng province in May, but did not disclose further details.

Sailun Group already operates a factory in Svay Rieng province and is expanding it through a $93 million project.
Hybrid Tire is building a plant in the same province bordering Vietnam with a designed annual production capacity of 6 million passenger tires and 1.2 million truck and bus radial tires.
