On May 29, Ideal Auto announced its first quarter 2025 financial results.In the first quarter, Ideal Auto’s deliveries increased by 15.5% year-on-year to 92,864 units, reigning as the No. 1 selling Chinese auto brand above 200,000 RMB.Quarterly revenue of 25.9 billion yuan ranked No. 1 among new force car companies.
Quarterly net profit realized 647 million yuan, an increase of 9.4% year-on-year, setting a new record of 10 consecutive quarters of profitability for new power car companies.
Quarterly R&D expenses of $2.5 billion to strengthen the expanded application of AI technology base in assisted driving, smart cockpit, smart industry and smart business.At the end of the quarter, the company had cash reserves of $110.7 billion.
Looking ahead to the second quarter of 2025, Ideal Motors expects quarterly deliveries to range from 123,000 to 128,000 units, a year-over-year increase of 13.3% to 17.9%, and quarterly revenue to reach $32.5 billion to $33.8 billion, a year-over-year increase of 2.5% to 6.7%.
In the first quarter, Ideal L series and Ideal MEGA were in the period of switching between old and new products, and overlaying the market factors of traditional automobile consumption off-season, Ideal Automobile realized a year-on-year growth of 15.5%, with a growth rate close to twice that of the broader market of mid- to high-end new energy vehicles above RMB 200,000 yuan.Ideal won the sales champion of SUVs above 200,000 RMB for three consecutive quarters, with Ideal L6 reigning as the No.1 mid-size SUV sold from 200,000 to 300,000 RMB, Ideal L7 and Ideal L8 occupying the top spot in the sales of mid-size and large-size SUVs from 300,000 to 400,000 RMB in cumulative sales, and Ideal L9 winning the sales champion of large-size SUVs from 400,000 to 500,000 RMB.The cumulative deliveries of the Ideal L series exceeded one million units, making it the first extended-range product series to reach the one million milestone in the global market.
In the second quarter, Ideal Vehicle L series and Ideal MEGA completed intelligent refurbishment, focusing on software and hardware upgrades such as assisted driving, intelligent cockpit, chassis handling, etc., and all models were equipped with ATL all-weather LIDAR as standard.
A new model, Ideal MEGA Home, was created for large family users, with an innovative zero-gravity swivel seat. Orders for the new model have been hot since its launch, driving the overall sales of Ideal MEGA models to grow beyond expectations.
Ideal Auto’s Beijing plant and supply chain system are currently accelerating capacity enhancement, and deliveries are expected to rise to a level of 2,500 to 3,000 units in July this year.
In terms of assisted driving, Ideal Auto’s self-developed next-generation advanced assisted driving system, VLA (Vision-Language-Action Model), integrates spatial, linguistic and behavioral intelligence in its driver’s grand model, which is equipped with powerful 3D spatial comprehension, logical reasoning and behavioral generation capabilities.
The VLA driver big model solves the security and model black box problems, and will bring users a safe, efficient, and closer to human driving travel experience, accelerating the evolution of the L2 level combined driving assistance to a higher level of automated driving. In accordance with the planning, the Ideal VLA driver big model, which will be released synchronously with Ideal i8, the first pure electric SUV product of Ideal Motors, will be released synchronously.
In the construction of supercharging network, Ideal Auto keeps increasing its investment. By the end of the first quarter, the supercharging network covers over 50,000 kilometers of highways, and the coverage rate of national highway main lines exceeds 70%.At present, Ideal supercharging network has penetrated 22 long-distance travel routes of popular attractions, including G318 Sichuan-Tibet route.
Up to now, Ideal Auto has opened and operated 2,350 Ideal Supercharging Stations, equipped with more than 12,700 supercharging piles.It is expected that when Ideal i8 is released in July, Ideal Auto will have built more than 2,500 supercharging stations.
